Summary:
Seagen is looking for an Associate Director, Market Development (ADMD) to support the TIVDAK brand team. The ADMD is an exceptional leader who will work to drive results in three main areas: (1) developing Advocacy, (2) capturing, interpreting, and synthesizing Insights and (3) optimizing Educational Effectiveness. The ADMD will report to the Director, ADCETRIS/TIVDAK Market Development, and will collaborate cross-functionally on field activities as a strategic partner with Marketing, Market Planning, Legal, Compliance, Sales Management, Sales Training, Managed Markets and Medical Affairs.
Advocacy:
In partnership with the Director, Market Development and TIVDAK brand team, the ADMD will identify and engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) with the objective of building awareness of Seagen and TIVDAK labeled indications. The ADMD will monitor KOL opinions about treatment patterns in our labeled (and potential) indications, synthesize this information with appropriate corporate and field-based colleagues, and assist in the development of partnership opportunities with KOLs.
Key deliverables include:
- Develop and implement a cross-functional KOL strategy identifying and executing against actionable metrics, in partnership with the brand team
- Drive awareness within labeled indications and be primarily accountable for commercial partnerships with KOLs utilizing outstanding business and clinical acumen
- Identify, assess, and tier TIVDAK KOLs and lead the development of KOL belief and influence mapping
- Collaborate closely with marketing to identify partnering opportunities with KOLs
- Collaborate effectively and compliantly with Medical Affairs partners to ensure efficient utilization and communication with KOLs in alignment with Brand strategies and tactics
Insights:
The ADMD will be responsible for capturing, analyzing, and interpreting KOL sentiments and sharing their findings with the brand team at regular intervals. KOL sentiments will be captured via ADMD observations and during individual engagements that occur with a defined cohort of KOLs throughout the year.
Key deliverables include:
- Capturing KOL sentiments consistently and accurately
- Providing insights reports to the brand team at pre-defined intervals
- Coordinating and conducting ADMD and brand team Business Planning Meetings
- Providing succinct and informative post-conference summaries to the brand team (both written and verbal)
Educational Effectiveness:
The ADMD will be expected to exhibit expert level disease state and product knowledge and will be responsible for demonstrating their clinical acumen when conducting customer interactions. The ADMD will be responsible for ensuring accurate and fair-balanced representation of all Seagen products for which they support. In addition, the ADMD will be accountable for contributing to the development and execution of a comprehensive educational platform designed to educate HCPs on the appropriate use of Seagen’s branded products.
Key deliverables include:
- Develop and execute an annual KOL engagement plan for a defined territory
- Ensure compliant, fair-balanced, and effective message delivery within all ADMD educational channels
- Observe and assess Seagen’s educational programs
- Provide insights and opportunities to improve, innovate, and expand our educational platform
- Enlist appropriate KOLs to successfully support commercial activities, in partnership with brand team
- Work with field partners to identify and vet qualified promotional speakers
- Manage the contracting, training, and on-going educational efforts with contracted promotional speakers
- Deliver timely action oriented feedback and coaching to Seagen’s contracted educators as appropriate
- Assess speaker utilization and ensure compliance with internal guidelines
KOL Engagement:
The ADMD will be the primary field-based marketing resource responsible for the success of marketing initiatives designed to engage KOLs and will play a key liaison role between our external customers and the commercial organization. The ADMD will work closely with marketing to define a KOL Engagement Strategy and actionable annual plan to ensure appropriate and efficient KOL engagement with existing KOLs as well as defining strategies to identify and engage emerging Thought Leaders (eTLs). Additionally, the ADMD will be responsible for contributing to the development of innovative measurable metrics to define the effectiveness of KOL focused efforts.
Requirements:
The successful ADMD candidate will be an experienced oncology professional with cervical cancer therapeutic area expertise strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have familiarity and/or existing relationships with cervical cancer KOLs, previous marketing or field-based marketing experience, and have demonstrated the ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally. Breadth of experience and success in multiple cross-functional roles including people leadership is preferred.
Specific expectations of candidates are as follows:
- A track record of sustained outstanding performance in oncology with cervical cancer experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain exceptional business relationships
- Must possess a broad range of leadership and professional competencies including team leadership, strategic agility, business and clinical acumen, collaborative and cross functional problem solving, exceptional communication skills, a passion for the science of cervical cancer/Oncology, and a drive to help patients with cancer
- Travel requirement for the MDM role is > 50% and evening and weekend work are frequently required

The hiring pay range for this position is $157,000 - $204,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
