Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director Procurement, this position will support Procurement in the selection of appropriate vendors across various departmental category lines, defining and reviewing appropriate SOW’s, negotiating in line with the needs of respective Seagen functional areas globally, and supporting all sourcing and contractual processes. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with all Seagen functions and external parties in order to execute agreements.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the HR, Finance, G&A and Legal Teams to operationalize the business objective through sourcing strategies developed for identified categories of spend
- Manage the required categories of spend based on the long-range plan of the business division
- Support the Corporate spend domain in alignment with the centralized procurement function
- Communicate the needs of the stakeholders to the vendor marketplace and support the evaluation, qualification, and selection of suppliers for the defined categories
- Develop appropriate metrics and key performance indicators for preferred vendor relationships
- Communicate the Seagen requirements to vendors for the conduct of selected service lines
- Support the vendor governance for approved vendors working with the functional SMEs within the respective functions specifically within Commercial
- Perform ongoing market assessments for new service providers and innovations aligned with Seagen strategy
- Effectively negotiates all levels of supplier agreements and contracts, comparing service and product offerings and specifications to deliver best value for the company
- Leads the bidding process, from determination of requirements, through bid review, supplier selection, negotiation and drafting of related contracts
- Conducts in depth capability analysis of potential bidders to confirm their ability to meet company requirements
- Completes vendor on-boarding according to established company procedures
- Monitors supplier performance to ensure compliance with requirements established in partnership with key cross-functional stakeholders and department leadership
- Drafts contract documents that meet legal and end user requirements as needed for completion of negotiated agreements
- Searches out cross-functional improvement opportunity projects and leads them to completion in partnership with key stakeholders
- Complexity: Must be able to balance multiple high-priority engagements, meet required timelines, and work with all levels of colleagues within the organization
- Supervision: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under high pressure situations and tight deadlines is required
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of commercial pharmaceutical and/or biopharma experience
- Minimum 5 years procurement/purchasing experience leading sourcing activities across various functions RFI, RFP, bids analyses, vendor selection
- Proven scope interpretation and negotiation skills, multiple regions, off- and on-shoring of services or case processing with associated reporting compliance metrics and KPIs
- Ability to manage a range of priorities to from initiation to completion and out of critical path for service and/or goods delivery
- Prior work with a matrixed and decentralized team, across enterprise functions
- Thorough understanding of contract terms and applications
- Strong verbal and written ability with the English language
- Experience with change management
- Experience with working with international/global organizations
Education:
- BS/BA from an accredited college or university

The hiring pay range for this position is $122,000 - $158,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
