Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Enterprise Communication leads the ECT team and collaborates across the IT functional areas to provide the design, implementation and sustained operations of instant messaging, voice/telephony, and audio, video, and web conferencing services across the organization.

This position provides oversight and direction of the Enterprise Communication Technologies team, driving innovation and short/long-term strategies for real-time communication and collaboration.

This position frequently interacts with senior leadership across all functions and business units, has both technical and customer/client engagements, provides thoughtful leadership, and demonstrates strong leadership skills.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Sets strategic direction and develops solution recommendations for Unified Communications (UC) tools and technologies
  • Directs teams supporting the enterprise audio, video, and web conferencing, voice, and telephony technology landscape
  • Advances operational excellence and development of real-time communications and collaboration services
  • Organizes assessments and evaluations of next gen technologies
  • Prepares and presents communications and executive level briefings on enterprise UC projects and deliverables
  • Plans and prepares UC budgets and workloads while keeping a focus on financial optimization
  • Delegates project assignments, monitors workload and productivity, and mediates resource planning to maximize the performance and effectiveness of the Real-time communication teams
  • Relationship-building with vendors such as Microsoft, Zoom, Verizon, T-Mobile to support global employees
  • Builds a diverse team culture through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Interprets and communicates work procedures and company policies to teams
  • Maintain a customer-service oriented atmosphere for the ECT team, which includes ensuring prompt response, effective communication, and delivery of solutions for reported issues

Requirements:

  • Strong customer-focus and demonstrated experience working with/meeting business users’ requirements
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong understanding in systems automation, change management, capacity planning and documentation
  • Experience with the delivery of enterprise UC services related to voice, video, and conferencing technology
  • Partner, collaborate and develop strong relationships with functional IT and business leaders to deliver strategies related to Enterprise communication capabilities in support of the corporate strategy, corporate objectives, and major functional objectives
  • Develop a global operating model (people, vendors, processes, technologies) that addresses Seagen business needs, and is synergistic with the overall IT strategy
  • Partner with business groups outside of IT to communication strategies
  • Reviews Incident and Problem data for trends and recurrence of issues, finding opportunities to reduce the frequency and eliminate service impacting events
  • Reviews Problem Management/Resolution for all system problems. Report on root cause for all problem events.
  • Develop and maintain 3 year rolling roadmaps that optimally reflect business need priorities, efficient sequencing, resources, and funding
  • Manage demand and delivery through internal teams, suppliers and partners and create value-based metrics and dashboards
  • Implement integrated and automated processes that drive operational excellence, and sustain knowledge continuity through appropriate level of documentation and cross training

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Proven experience and delivery of enterprise UC services related to voice, video, and conferencing technology
  • Strong customer-focus and demonstrated experience working with/meeting business users’ requirements
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal relationship, team building, collaboration, and objective facilitation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Manage relationship between VARs and Seagen
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Exchange, Enterprise PBX, Telecom carriers
  • Ability to produce technical diagrams and high-level executive reporting
  • Strong understanding in systems automation, change management, capacity planning and documentation
  • Understanding of public and private cloud communication architectures including SaaS; IP networking, LAN/WAN switching and QoS is beneficial

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience managing Enterprise teams
  • Unified communication experience preferred

The hiring pay range for this position is $65,000 to $84,700 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
