Summary:
Seagen is committed to developing a comprehensive Research Data Hub by developing complex informatics and data solutions to enable our world class scientists to develop therapeutic breakthroughs, improve laboratory efficiency, and drive automation systems.
The Sr. Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Developer will drive our digital transformation and laboratory automation journey to the next level. This position will actively participate in LIMS/IS strategy, development, coordination, integration, and implementation across the entire research org. The Sr. LIS Developer will further Seagen’s goals of developing transformative cancer therapies and improving the lives of our patients.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Work closely with laboratory scientists, management, IT, and external vendors to gather and understand requirements
- Designs, configures, customizes and develops LIS applications and to meet requirements
- Develops automated laboratory data workflows from DOE to analysis
- Enables lab data and metadata to be accessed by data scientists through the Research Data Hub
- Integrates LIS with laboratory automation systems from multiple vendors
- Developing integration between system and laboratory automation and automated sample storage (biobank) systems
- Continuously analyze processes, systems, and applications and recommend changes that improve lab operational efficiencies, security, data organization and integrity
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years in Biopharma setting building, customizing and managing LIS platforms: ELN, LIMS, SDMS, etc.
- Experience working with Scientific staff and gathering requirements
- Experience in research lab workflows and data automation
- Prior experience of interfacing SDMS, LIMS, ELN and laboratory instruments
- Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, VBA or similar
Strong experience working with relational SQL databases, including reading/understanding and writing complex SQL queries
- Prior experience with data pipelining, transformation, and standardization
- Expert knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Strong communication skills and highly organized
- Comfortable with software code repositories (GIT or similar)
- B.S. in computer science or B.S. biological/chemical sciences or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FAIR principles
Proficient at CSS
- Prior wet lab experience
- Knowledge of laboratory assays and cell culture techniques
- Experience with laboratory automation software: Green Button Go, Overlord, Cellario, etc.
- Experience with Dotmatics suite

The hiring pay range for this position is $108,000 to $140,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
