VP IT Product Strategy and Solutions

Summary

With the evolution of Technology, new product lines emerging and Seagen’s expansion globally, IT must drive strategies that predict and deliver new/improved technology solutions to support and deliver accelerated business growth. We seek a Vice President of Product Strategy and Solutions, reporting to the SVP/Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the transformation and optimization of solutions across the entire enterprise to deliver short and long term corporate and IT goals. This position is a critical strategic partner of the CIO, the Enterprise Executive Leadership team, and IT Leadership to develop, define, and support technology vision, solution design, roadmaps, and product management Globally. This role will require broad based strategic thinking across Seagen’s enterprise, the technology product lifecycle, enterprise needs both current and future, and deep engagement at Executive, leadership and all levels of the enterprise driving significant value for the whole of Seagen. IT’s North Star is to be the technology leaders in Life Sciences by proactively developing and delivering solutions to accelerate business delivery.

This position sets the strategy and objectives for the Solutions teams in alignment with the long- and near-term Global IT Vision and objectives, Corporate goals, and Business team goals, leads the functional build out of solution delivery teams, product management and strategic business relationship management.

Principal Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Relationship Management:

  • Build business relationships across the enterprise at all levels driving solution roadmaps and garnering a seat at the table to enable strategic solutions development
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to proactively identify strategies where technology could accelerate business objectives, improve existing technology solutions, and resolve potential challenges in delivery across the enterprise leveraging technology
  • Orchestrate identification, prioritization, and advancement of initiatives; monitor progress and communicate updates to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Advise, report on, and ensure execution of strategic initiatives across business portfolios, priorities, corporate, and departmental goals to ensure alignment with desired outcomes

Product Solutions Delivery:

  • Build the methodology to predictably and consistently deliver solutions addressing both current and future needs of the enterprise to meet or exceed business objectives
  • Build and develop business solutions teams changing the enterprise methodology from specific technology to solutions encompassing multiple products and platforms that deliver against specific business needs (e.g. ERP, GXP, Non-GXP, Collaboration) delivering optimized solutions
  • Make sound data driven decisions regarding the use of existing technology versus new optimizing the total cost of ownership and technical debt
  • Accelerate the delivery of enterprise objectives through solutions design and delivery that works backwards from the future need advancing automation and technology driven solutions
  • Determine the optimal strategies and roadmaps to support globalization and expansion efforts across the business enabling current and future growth objectives in a scalable way
  • Advance technology innovation, setting standards, and executing the delivery of high impact solutions

Product Management:

  • Build, lead and manage the development of product management advancing our understanding of market trends and development of technology that could advance our enterprise
  • Build, lead and manage the development of digital asset management and technology to provide seamless access to digital assets on any device and via multiple delivery platforms enabling reuse vs recreation of key digital asset materials internally and externally across the enterprise
  • Manage the technology lifecycle across hundreds of platforms/applications to drive innovation, adoption. automation and long-term viability of current solutions
  • Build relationships with key external technology leaders in other Biotech companies staying abreast of best practice tech trends within and outside our industry
  • Engage in key early development relationships with key solution providers to help drive new technology development that will accelerate the value for Seagen

Executive Leadership:

  • Executive Sponsor for key strategic programs, steering, and governing to ensure transparency, decision speed and removal of roadblocks to achieves results
  • Key executive leader to IT is living the organizational vision and goals in partnership with the ITLT and the Seagen executive leadership
  • Leading and developing senior high performing IT professionals developing new capabilities, optimizing existing driven our ability to attract, retain and grow a diverse inclusive team
  • Partner with the CIO and the IT Leadership team to design and deliver IT operational excellence programs that meet and or exceed IT and Seagen expectations
  • Facilitate and deliver all levels of communications across IT, Seagen leadership, the enterprise, and external communities including the board and other shareholders as needed
  • Inspiring Service, Teamwork, and Accountability –Developing and implement plans to cultivate future IT leaders ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion across the organization and team. Serve as a mentor for existing leaders. Provide strength in leadership across IT and all Seagen

Qualifications

  • Executive multi-functional global leader with strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build trust, influence, and develop deep relationships across a large and diverse group of IT leaders and teams
  • At least 20 years’ industry or related experience in a global fast-paced, high growth/expansion regulated IT environment (Technology/Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in partnership with others in a collaboratively. Executive presence including competent and comfortable briefing executive and all levels of the organization internally and externally
  • Strong initiative and value delivery focus with the ability to manage multiple complex teams and initiatives across the enterprise of varying complexity
  • Proven ability to build and develop value leveraging innovative new capabilities driving accelerated maturity growth across the organization
  • Familiarity and understanding of scientific and clinical principles that guide our business
  • Track record of successfully navigating at senior levels of the organization within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to capture the confidence of the organization in delivering new ideas or solutions. Factually resolve conflicts and differences of opinion in a respectful yet assertive way
  • Handle confidential information with discretion internally and externally
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Education:

  • MBA or related Masters-level degree preferred
