Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc.
(HASTI) -- HASTI seeks to promote the advancement, stimulation, extension, improvement,
and coordination of science education in Indiana. Members receive a professional journal
and newsletter on science development and are invited to participate
in the annual convention, local meetings, and workshops.
Indiana BioHistory -- Learn about
significant milestones in the historical development of Indiana's biotechnology &
medical technology industry.
Indiana Junior
Academy of Science -- The Indiana Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) meeting and competition
is held each fall. Sponsored by the Indiana Academy of Science, IJAS is designed to encourage
high school students to pursue an interest in science study and careers.
Indiana Parent Teachers Association (PTA)
-- The Indiana PTA's mission is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the
schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make
decisions affecting children; to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and
protect their children; and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of
this nation.
Indiana University
-- The Bloomington campus of Indiana University offers an array of programs and opportunities
for students from kindergarten through high school. The university also provides resources for parents and
educators.
Academic
Competitions -- Links to regional, state, and national academic competitions, including
the Indiana Science Olympiad, the Intel Science and Engineering Fair, and the Junior Science
and Humanities Symposium.
Annual Physics Open
House -- The Physics Open House offers lecture-demonstrations and hands-on demonstrations
each fall. The goal is to bring the excitement of physics to the public and to inspire a new
generation of scientists.
Jim Holland
Summer Enrichment Program -- The Jim Holland Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) is an exciting
opportunity for Indiana minority high school students to broaden their horizons in Science.
Whether interested in learning more about genetics, evolution, environmental and molecular
biology, plant sciences, or a host of other scientific focuses, attending the Summer Enrichment
Program offers not only lectures and discussions, but also hands-on laboratory experiences.
Science
Olympiad Summer Fun Camp -- The Science Olympiad Summer Fun Camp is a one-week residential
camp for students entering 6th through 12th grades. This camp is designed to increase student
interest and competence in hands-on science activities in a relaxed, safe and fun atmosphere.
WTIU -- WTIU
is 24-hour public television licensed to Indiana University. WTIU's broadcast schedule combines
the full national schedule of PBS programs with additional locally selected series and programs,
including an award winning childrens' program and local documentaries.
WonderLab
-- The WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology in Bloomington is an interactive,
award-winning, non-profit children's science museum featuring hands-on exhibits and programs
that stimulate curiosity, encourage exploration, and foster lifelong learning.
